Street art is on display in a series of exhibitions being staged in Rome this summer. Called Scala Mercalli, the series of exhibits began in May, when temporary walls were put up in the pedestrian gallery on Via del Tritone and artists were invited to embellish them. Faithful eCool readers will remember that we featured several works from that exhibit, including on of the She-Wolf and one honoring the 7 kings of Rome’s early history.
Now the exhibition series has moved to Rome’s new-ish auditorium, taking over a part of the parking garage, as well as the corridor that connects the three performance halls. We paid a visit recently and were glad to see that though the work is uneven, some of our favorite artists like Sten, Lex, & Lucamaleonte had been hard at work. We’ll be showing you more of the work in the exhibition in upcoming days, but in the meantime, we thought you’d enjoy TV Boy’s homage to the Colosseum (above) as much as we do.
